Motorcycle Accidents

No one can deny the thrill of the open road on the back of a motorcycle.  Few things are more American than the wind in your face, and the rumble of a powerful engine beneath you.  But the fact is that motorcycle accidents are much more catastrophic than when the driver is in a car.  Statistics have shown that while car crashes cause some sort of injury approximately 30% of the time, with fatalities occurring in less than 1% of those accidents, motorcycle crashes cause injury more than 75% of the time, with about 5% causing death.

Because of these statistics, insurance companies will fight hard to deny your claim if you are involved in a motorcycle accident.  They will tell you that you “assumed the risk” by choosing a motorcycle as your mode of transportation.  And because damages will almost certainly be higher than in a car accident, they will try to pay less for your treatment, hoping you’ll believe them.

You can do a few things to help mitigate your risks.  Make sure you and any one on your bike always has a helmet on.  Wear appropriate shoes when you’re riding.  Take an ABATE course.  Know and follow the rules of traffic.  And, if you or someone you love has been injured or tragically killed in a motorcycle accident, call us today.  We’ll fight for maximum recovery for you.
